- Had to tarp my old shingle roof after a hailstorm last summer.
- Used a heavy-duty silver tarp, plus 2x4s screwed right into the rafters—held up for about three weeks of rain and wind before it started leaking again.
- Blue tarps barely lasted a weekend here in Texas heat.
- Never had much luck with those sticky patches either—edges always curl up.
- Real fix is always better, but sometimes you just need to keep the water out for a bit... just don’t expect miracles.
