Was chatting with my neighbor yesterday, and he mentioned something kinda interesting—apparently, you can use roofing tape or even silicone caulk as a temporary fix for those tiny drips that pop up after heavy rain. I mean, I always thought you'd have to call someone out right away, but he swears by these DIY fixes. Haven't tried it myself yet, but now I'm curious if anyone here's done this sorta thing and how long it actually holds up...

Tried silicone caulk once after a storm left us with an annoying drip right above the porch—figured it'd last maybe a week at best, but it actually held up for almost a year. Was kinda impressed, honestly. Still, it's definitely more of a band-aid than a real fix. Eventually had to bite the bullet and get the roof properly patched. But hey, bought me some time to save up for the repair, so no complaints here...
