I've seen Ludowici tiles hold up pretty well too, but honestly, even mid-range brands can last decades if installed right. Premium tiles with sloppy installs are like buying a Ferrari and letting your cousin Larry change the oil...not gonna end well.

That's a solid point about installation. When we redid our roof a few years back, we went with a mid-range brand (Eagle, I think?) to save some cash. Honestly, no regrets so far—knock on wood. Neighbor down the street splurged on premium tiles, bragged about it nonstop, but then went cheap on the contractor. Now he's got leaks popping up every rainy season...yikes.

But now I'm curious—has anyone had experience with warranties from these tile companies? Like, if something does go wrong, are they pretty good about honoring it, or is it one of those "fine print" nightmares? I’ve heard mixed things and would hate to find out the hard way.

Haha, classic move—spend big on materials, skimp on labor, then wonder why things go south. Seen it way too many times doing inspections. Honestly, warranties can be hit or miss. I've heard some companies honor them without much fuss, while others make you jump through hoops and blame installation errors. Anyone here actually had a warranty claim go smoothly? Curious how common that is...

Had a similar experience years back when I had to file a warranty claim for cracked tiles. Honestly, it wasn't too bad—company sent an inspector out pretty quick, confirmed it was a material defect, and covered replacement tiles. But labor wasn't included, so I still had to pay for installation. Lesson learned: always read fine print on warranties, they're rarely all-inclusive...

- Had a similar issue with shingles, not tiles, but same warranty headache.
- Company agreed it was defective material, but took forever to send replacements.
- Labor wasn't covered either—ended up costing me more than expected.
- Makes me wonder if premium brands actually offer better warranty coverage or just charge more for the same hassle...anyone had luck with pricier brands?
