RE: Switching from RO to UF membranes made my life way easier
I hear you on the self-cleaning pre-filters - on paper, they sound like a time-saver, but in practice, I’ve yet to see one that doesn’t eventually clog or need manual attention. We tried a couple brands at one of our old...
RE: Figuring out roof support: choosing between rafters and trusses
I get where you’re coming from - trusses do make some things easier, but they’re a real pain if you need access later. I manage a few buildings with both types, and honestly, the truss attics are always the ones where co...
RE: Roof upkeep through the seasons - did you see this?
I hear you on the gutter guards. I’ve tried a couple brands over the years - mesh, foam, even those brush-looking ones. They all slow down the mess, but nothing keeps out pine needles for long. Still, I’ll take “less wor...
RE: how much does fixing up after a big storm usually set you back?
Couldn't agree more with this. I've seen properties meticulously maintained still end up with significant storm damage - like a roof that passed inspection easily but lost shingles in unexpected gusts. Also worth conside...

You're right to question that. From my experience, many contractor networks rarely verify licenses regularly - often it's just annual at best. Always safer to cross-reference directly with local licensing boards... bette...
RE: ROOF DAMAGE DILEMMA: ASPHALT VS METAL, WHICH IS BETTER FOR INSURANCE CLAIMS?
Had a similar experience a couple years back with a commercial property - metal roof as well. Initially, the adjuster was pretty dismissive about the damage, suggesting it was just cosmetic. But once we provided thermal ...
RE: when do you usually tackle gutter cleaning?
I've seen similar issues with micro-mesh guards - effective, yes, but far from foolproof. Curious if anyone's noticed seasonal differences in buildup? Around here, spring pollen seems just as troublesome as autumn leaves...
