I was chatting with my neighbor yesterday—he just got these amazing stone tiles installed on his roof, and honestly, they look fantastic. Like, really classy and durable. Got me thinking about maybe doing the same thing, but then it hit me: stone's gotta be way heavier than regular shingles, right? Now I'm a bit worried if my house's framing can even handle that kind of extra load without reinforcing the structure, you know?
I don't wanna end up with a gorgeous roof and a sagging ceiling. 😅 Has anyone here dealt with this before or know how big of a deal it is to upgrade the framing? I'm hoping it doesn't turn into some huge expensive project, but I've got a sneaky feeling it might.
