I'm honestly at my wit's end with this roof leak issue. Every time it rains it's like playing detective trying to figure out where the water's actually coming from. Ugh, roof leaks are seriously the worst. Have you checked around your chimney or vents yet? I spent months chasing a leak around my attic last spring, patching random spots and hoping for the best. Turns out, the flashing around my chimney was the sneaky culprit. Water would seep in there and travel along a beam before dripping down somewhere totally unrelated—talk about frustrating.
Also, have you tried going up in the attic during a heavy rain? Sounds miserable, I know, but sometimes that's the only way to actually catch where it's coming from. If you're lucky, you'll spot the drip trail and finally nail down the source.
One thing I've learned (unfortunately from experience) is that sometimes DIY fixes aren't enough. I eventually had to bite the bullet and hire someone to redo the flashing properly. It hurt my wallet a bit at first, but honestly, it saved me so much hassle in the long run. Maybe worth considering if it keeps coming back?
