Why does cleaning up nail clippings always turn into a scavenger hunt?

I’ve tried clipping over a towel, in the tub, even with one of those little “catcher” things attached to the clippers. Still, I’ll find a rogue clipping on the stairs or stuck to my sock days later. I’m not convinced it’s just static—sometimes I think these things have a mind of their own. Maybe it’s airflow or just the way they bounce off surfaces, but it’s like they’re engineered to escape containment.

One thing I’ve noticed: if you clip slowly and keep the clippers pointed downward, you can reduce the launch distance... but it’s never perfect. I’ve even tried vacuuming right after, but somehow there’s always one that gets away. Maybe it’s just one of those household mysteries, like missing socks or why light bulbs burn out in pairs. At this point, I just accept that finding stray clippings is part of the deal.

I’ve tried clipping over a paper plate to save cleanup, but somehow those little bits still end up in the hallway or even on the couch. I think it’s partly the bounce—hard surfaces just launch them everywhere. Even with a handheld vacuum, I always miss one or two. At this point, I just factor in a quick sweep the next day... seems like the only way.
