Green roofs sound awesome in theory, but honestly, they're not for everyone. I've seen some turn into mini jungles—complete with surprise critters. Plus, maintenance can be a pain. Sometimes simpler is better...just my two cents.

Totally get where you're coming from—green roofs definitely aren't a one-size-fits-all thing. I've had my share of surprises too, like the time I found a whole family of squirrels making themselves at home on mine. But honestly, once you get a solid maintenance routine down, it's not as daunting as it seems. For me, regular check-ins every few months helped keep things manageable. I start by clearing out any debris, checking drainage, and trimming back the plants that get a bit too ambitious. It might sound tedious at first, but after a while, it becomes second nature...kind of like gardening or yard work.

Still, you're right—simpler solutions can sometimes save headaches. It's all about finding what suits your lifestyle and comfort level. Either way, kudos to you for keeping an open mind and sharing your experience.

Fair point, but honestly, green roofs aren't always worth the hassle. I've inspected plenty where drainage issues or hidden leaks caused serious headaches down the line. Regular checkups help, sure, but sometimes simpler roofing options just mean fewer surprises. If you're not into gardening or regular upkeep, traditional roofs can save you time and stress in the long run...just my two cents.

That's a good point about green roofs—I've seen some tricky drainage issues myself. But honestly, even traditional roofs can spring surprises without regular checks. Ever dealt with unexpected storm damage on a "simpler" roof?

Yep, seen it plenty:
- Shingles ripped off in moderate winds.
- Flashing leaks after heavy rain.
- Gutters clogged, causing water backup.

Simpler doesn't always mean safer. Green roofs need proper setup, sure, but once established they're pretty resilient. Good drainage design upfront saves headaches later—just gotta do it right from day one.
