Just finished reroofing my garage and decided to go with shingles that have those SureNail strips. Honestly, I was skeptical at first—thought it was just marketing fluff—but gotta admit, it made lining things up way easier. Felt like the nails grabbed better too, less slipping around. Dunno if it's just me imagining things or what, but the whole job seemed quicker. Curious if others had similar experiences or if I'm just drinking the Kool-Aid here...

- Tried these shingles last summer on a small shed—first roofing project ever.
- Honestly, thought the SureNail thing was just marketing hype too...
- But gotta say, lining them up felt pretty intuitive for a rookie like me.
- Didn't notice much difference with nail grip though, maybe I wasn't paying attention?
- Curious if it's more noticeable on bigger jobs or if experience level matters.

Yeah, I had a similar experience when I first tried SureNail shingles. Definitely agree they're easier to line up, especially if you're new to roofing. About the nail grip though... I noticed it a bit more on steeper roofs or windy days. It felt like the shingles stayed put better while I was positioning them. Might just be subtle differences depending on conditions or roof pitch, I guess?

Interesting you mention the grip difference on steeper roofs... I haven't tried SureNail shingles myself yet, but I'm curious—do you think the improved grip is noticeable enough to justify the extra cost? I've been debating whether it's worth upgrading from standard shingles for my next project. My roof isn't super steep, but we do get some pretty gusty winds around here, especially in spring. Wondering if that extra grip would make a noticeable difference in ease of installation or durability over time.

Also, did you notice any difference in how quickly you could work with them compared to regular shingles? I'm all for anything that makes the job quicker (and less frustrating), but sometimes these features sound great on paper and then don't really pan out in practice. Would love to hear if anyone else has thoughts on this too...

I've inspected a few roofs with SureNail shingles, and from what I've seen, they do seem to hold up pretty well in windy areas. Can't speak directly to installation speed, but homeowners generally seem happy with them long-term. Might be worth considering for peace of mind alone...
