Okay, so I'm planning to redo the roof on my cabin this summer, and I'm stuck debating between a steep pitch or something a bit more shallow. We get some pretty heavy snowfall around here, and I've seen neighbors with steep roofs where snow slides right off, but then again, others say shallow roofs hold snow better and insulate more. Um, honestly I'm not sure what's best. Quick poll: do you prefer steep roofs that shed snow fast or shallower ones that hold it longer for insulation?
