I've been dealing with some pretty nasty icicles hanging off my roof every winter, and I'm finally fed up enough to do something about it. Did a bit of googling, and it seems like the two main options are installing heating cables or improving attic insulation. Heating cables seem easier but maybe pricier in the long run, while insulation sounds like more upfront work but could save money later... I dunno. Anyone tried either of these? Which one worked better for you?
