"Did anyone actually read all that fine print beforehand?"

Haha, guilty as charged...I skimmed it at best. Honestly, warranties are like umbrellas that melt in the rain—great until you actually need them. Had a client once whose warranty excluded "acts of nature," and I was like, "So...aliens are covered then?" Totally agree though, local reputation beats fancy paperwork any day. Lesson learned the hard way here too.

I actually did read mine (mostly)...but it felt like decoding hieroglyphics. Turns out, "normal wear and tear" covers basically everything that actually happens to roofs. Go figure. Learned my lesson—now I trust reviews over warranties any day.

Yeah, warranties can be tricky like that. Had a similar experience a few years back—roof started leaking after a storm, and I thought, "no worries, warranty's got me covered." Nope. Apparently, storms are "acts of nature," and guess what? Not covered. Ended up relying on a local roofer recommended by neighbors, and honestly, best decision ever. Reviews and word-of-mouth beat fine print every time...lesson learned the hard way.

Yeah, warranties can be annoyingly specific when you least expect it. Seen plenty of these "acts of nature" exclusions myself—it's frustrating. Glad you found a reliable local roofer though, honestly that's usually the safer bet...neighbors tend to know what's up.

When I first bought my place, I totally skimmed through the warranty thinking "eh, standard stuff." Fast forward to a freak hailstorm and suddenly I'm trying to decipher lawyer-speak about "acts of nature." Lesson learned—neighbors def know what's good...and what's sketchy.
