Had a roofer out yesterday for an estimate, and he gave me quotes for both GAF and Owens Corning shingles. I've heard good things about both brands, but honestly, the price difference kinda caught me off guard. Owens Corning was noticeably pricierβlike enough to make me pause and wonder if it's really worth paying extra.
I mean, I don't mind spending more if it means better durability or fewer headaches down the road. But is there really a noticeable difference in quality or longevity between these two? Or am I just paying extra for brand recognition and marketing hype?
If you've had either of these shingles installed, did you find the pricier option actually made a difference in how long they lasted or how they held up in storms and stuff? I'm leaning toward saving some cash, but I also don't wanna regret cutting corners later on.
