Last year when we redid our roof, the contractor kinda talked me into upgrading to this GAF deck protection stuff. At first, I was like, hmm, is this just another upsell? But honestly, after some pretty intense storms and a winter that seemed to drag on forever (you know how it is), I'm starting to feel like maybe it was actually worth it. No leaks, no weird moisture spots in the attic, nothing. My neighbor down the street didn't go for it and ended up with some issues after the last big storm rolled through.
But now I'm curious if anyone else here has had experience with these upgraded roof underlayments. Did you notice a real difference over time or did I just luck out? I'm not exactly a roofing expert, so it'd be cool to hear from others who've been through similar situations.
