Had this annoying leak around my chimney for months, tried patching it myself but, um, didn't go so great. Finally had a roofer put in a GAF leak barrier and it's been dry ever since. Curious if anyone else here has used these barriers and how they held up over time?

GAF barriers are solid stuff—used 'em on plenty of jobs and rarely had callbacks. Had one customer who swore his roof was leaking again after a year, turned out to be condensation from a poorly vented attic. He was pretty sheepish after that, haha. Did your roofer check ventilation around your chimney area too? Can make a sneaky difference over time...
