Had a squirrel chew through the insulation on my condensate line last year—little guy must’ve thought it was a snack bar. Ended up with water dripping right onto my filter setup. I wrapped everything in that cheap foam pipe wrap after, but I still check for teeth marks every few weeks. UF’s been easier for me too, but nothing’s foolproof if your attic turns into a wildlife hostel.

That squirrel story hits a little too close to home... I had a raccoon (or maybe a very determined possum?) tear up some of my attic insulation last spring, and it was like they were redecorating for a party. Never realized how much wildlife can mess with stuff you’d think is safe indoors. Do you think all that chewing is about the material, or are they just bored up there?

About the UF membranes—did you notice any difference in water taste or flow rate after switching? I’ve been on the fence myself, mostly because I’m always worried about maintenance. RO felt like a hassle, but at least I knew what to expect. Curious if you’ve had to do anything special to keep the UF setup running smoothly, especially with all the critter drama.

Also, not to get too off-topic, but I started looking into green roof panels partly to keep the attic temp down and maybe discourage furry visitors. Anyone try that route? Wonder if it’s more hassle than it’s worth, or if it actually helps with the wildlife invasion.
