After every rainstorm, my roof used to turn into a little pond—seriously, ducks could've moved in. Tried a bunch of stuff that didn't really work, but recently got a roofing guy who suggested adding tapered insulation and improving drainage. Wasn't cheap, but man, it worked like a charm. Last night's rain? Roof's dry as a bone today. Curious if anyone else had luck with other fixes or DIY hacks for this kinda thing.

Had a similar issue a while back—tried sealing it myself with some DIY roof sealant stuff from the hardware store. Worked okay for a couple rains, but eventually the pond came back. Ended up biting the bullet and installing extra downspouts and gutters to redirect water flow. Not exactly cheap either, but it's held up pretty well since then. Curious though, did your roofing guy mention anything about maintenance or upkeep for that tapered insulation?

Had a similar experience myself—tried the DIY sealant route first, but that turned out to be more of a temporary band-aid. Ended up going with tapered insulation too, and honestly, my roofing guy didn't mention much about upkeep. He just said to keep an eye out for debris buildup or standing water spots after heavy rains. Been about two years now, and other than occasionally sweeping off leaves, it's been pretty low-maintenance. Fingers crossed it stays that way...
