For me, the peace of mind is worth the regular climb up the ladder, even if it’s a hassle.

Same here—though my knees disagree every time I drag the ladder out. Last spring I found a split seam hiding under a pile of maple gunk. If I’d waited for a drip in the living room, I’d be shopping for new drywall. Metal roofs are tough, but man, hail finds every weak spot. I swear my neighbor’s roof sounds like a drumline during storms... mine just sounds expensive.

I get the peace of mind thing, but man, I wish someone had warned me how much of my life would be spent clearing out gutters and checking seams. I thought metal would be set-and-forget, but hail here (central Texas) makes it a full-time hobby. The noise is wild, but what really gets me is the tiny dents you only spot when the sun hits just right... and then you start wondering if your warranty’s worth anything.
