That’s spot on. I’ve seen neighbors with similar metal roofs get wildly different results after a hailstorm—one had just cosmetic dents, another ended up with leaks because their underlayment was cheap stuff. Color makes a difference for heat, but honestly, the real game changer is what’s underneath and how well it’s installed. I used to think all metal roofs were basically bulletproof, but it’s not that simple. If you’re in a hail-prone area, thicker gauge panels and solid underlayment are worth every penny.
