Good points on MCA and Ludowici. Another solid option is Boral—I've inspected quite a few roofs with their tiles, and they hold up well in various climates. But yeah, ventilation's key...seen too many attics turn into mold farms without proper airflow.

Couldn't agree more on ventilation—had to redo mine after inheriting a moldy attic mess from the previous owner. Boral tiles are solid, but Eagle Roofing deserves a mention too; good durability and pretty DIY-friendly for minor repairs.

Ventilation really can make or break an attic. I remember inspecting a house once where the owners had installed premium tiles—think they were Eagle, actually—but totally overlooked airflow. Beautiful roof, but underneath was like a rainforest... mold everywhere. Glad you caught yours early enough to redo it properly. And yeah, Eagle tiles are pretty forgiving for DIY patch-ups; seen homeowners handle minor repairs without much trouble. Good call on mentioning them.

Had a similar experience myself—my folks invested in a gorgeous tile roof years ago, but the contractor didn't stress ventilation enough. Within a year, we had moisture issues and mold creeping in. Learned the hard way that even top-tier tiles like Eagle or Boral can't compensate for poor airflow. Definitely agree Eagle's DIY-friendly, though personally I've found Ludowici tiles pretty impressive too—bit pricier, but their durability and finish are worth considering if budget allows.

Had a similar situation at my uncle's place—he splurged on some fancy imported tiles, but skimped big-time on ventilation. Mold city within months, I kid you not. Tiles alone definitely don't cut it. Ludowici's sweet if you've got the cash, but honestly, even mid-tier brands can perform solidly if ventilation's done right. Speaking of ventilation...anyone tried pairing those pricier tiles with upgraded ridge vents or attic fans? Curious if that's worth the extra hassle and cost.
