Been looking into roofing options lately and I'm kinda stuck between the CertainTeed Energy Star shingles and regular asphalt ones. Price difference isn't huge, but wondering if the energy savings are actually noticeable long-term...anyone have experience with either?

Went through a similar decision last summer when replacing our roof. Ended up going with the CertainTeed Energy Star shingles mainly for the potential energy savings. Honestly, it's a bit tricky to measure precisely, but I did notice our attic wasn't as scorching hot this past summer...AC seemed to kick on less often too. Probably won't see dramatic savings right away, but over several years, it might add up enough to justify the slight extra cost.
