RE: Switching from RO to UF membranes made my life way easier
- Totally agree about the ice & water shield at the eaves - saved my bacon more than once. - I’ve looked at those breathable membranes, but yeah, the price tag’s a bit much for my budget. Still, I get why folks use t...
RE: Is it smarter to pay upfront or finance big purchases?
- I hear you on the cash buffer. We emptied our savings for a new fridge last year, then - of course - the water heater died two months later. Ended up putting that on a credit card, which was not fun. - Paying interest ...
RE: How often do you actually get your business roof checked?
- Twice a year is about all I can justify too, unless we get one of those sideways rainstorms that dump branches everywhere. I’ve got a low-pitch roof with a couple of valleys, and those things just collect debris like i...
RE: Clearing roof mess: DIY or hire a pro?
- Totally get what you mean about the “eco-friendly” sprays. Tried one last year - felt like I just paid extra for a fancy label and the moss still came back. - Couldn’t agree more. I’m all for saving money, but after s...
RE: What would you do if your flat roof kept leaking but you couldn’t find the source?
Totally get where you’re coming from. Flat roofs are notorious for being tricky. A few things that worked for me: - 100%. I once found a tennis ball blocking my drain - never even owned a tennis ball. - Check the flash...

RE: Flat roofs and heavy rain: is it a disaster waiting to happen?
- Had a flat roof on my last place - definitely cheaper upfront, but I spent more on patching leaks than I expected. - Biggest thing for me was keeping the drains clear. One bad clog and water just sits. - If you’re on a...
RE: finally found an underlayment that lasts - what's your experience?
- Totally agree about the little stuff making a big difference. - I’ve been tempted by the pricier underlayments, but honestly, fixing my attic venting and sealing up a few gaps did more than any fancy product. - For...
RE: LOOKING FOR GOOD PLACES TO BUY METAL ROOFING SHEETS
- Totally get the frustration with mismatched panels - been there, and it’s always the seams that end up being a pain. - I’ve had similar luck at my local ReStore, just random leftovers, never enough for a whole job. S...
