Roofing just got lighter—anyone seen this?

I've had lighter tiles on my roof for about 6 years now, and yeah, they're decent overall. But honestly, durability can vary quite a bit depending on the brand and installation quality. Had a neighbor whose lighter tiles got pretty banged up after a hailstorm—not catastrophic damage, but enough to need repairs.
