I've been looking into getting solar tiles installed on my roof—seemed like a no-brainer, right? Save money, help the environment, all that good stuff. But man, I had NO idea how much red tape there'd be. Apparently, our town has these super specific rules about what kind of solar setups you can have and where exactly they can go. Like, seriously detailed stuff about tile color and visibility from the street and historical district guidelines (even though my house isn't even IN the historical district...).

I get wanting to keep neighborhoods looking nice, but it feels like they're making it intentionally difficult to go green. My neighbor two streets over got denied because his tiles were "too reflective." Um... aren't solar panels supposed to reflect sunlight? Isn't that kinda the point?

Anyway, I'm just venting here because it's frustrating as heck. Wondering if other folks are running into similar issues or if my town is just being extra picky for no reason.
