I recently found out that roof decking is basically the wooden layer beneath your shingles that supports the roof structure...who knew, right? If you're checking your roof, tap lightlyβhollow sounds might mean trouble brewing underneath. Curious if anyone has other roof-checking tricks or tips?

One thing I usually do is look at the roof from inside the atticβsounds weird, but hear me out. Grab a flashlight, head up there, and scan for any daylight sneaking through. If you spot sunlight peeking in, that's a red flag for sure. Also, check for dark stains or mold spots on the wood...those mean moisture's getting in somewhere. Beats climbing up a ladder every time, especially if heights aren't your jam.
