So, had a bit of a storm last week and now I've got a few shingles missing from my roof. Nothing too dramatic, but enough to be annoying, you know? Anyway, I've been getting quotes and advice from friends, and I'm kinda stuck between two options right now.

Option one is just patching up the missing shingles. It's cheaper, quicker, and seems like it'd solve the immediate problem. But some folks say it's just a temporary fix and I'll probably end up needing more repairs down the line.

Option two is biting the bullet and redoing the whole roof section that's affected. Obviously pricier, but maybe smarter long-term? I dunno. Feels like overkill for just a few missing shingles, but I also don't wanna keep dealing with this every time we get some wind or rain.

Anyone been through something similar? Curious what route you took and if you regret it or not.
