Saw this news story yesterday about a small town bridge that's been repaired like five or six times already, and now they're finally tearing it down completely to build a new one. Kinda made me think about how sometimes patching things up over and over just delays the inevitable. Like my old carβkept fixing it until one day the mechanic was like "Dude, seriously?" lol. Curious if anyone else saw the story or had something similar happen to them.
Yeah, totally get what you're saying about patching things up. Reminds me of when we first bought our houseβhad this old wooden fence in the backyard. Every spring I'd spend a weekend replacing boards, repainting, tightening screws... you name it. After about four years of that, I finally realized I was just throwing money and weekends away. Bit the bullet and replaced the whole thing with vinyl fencing. Honestly, best decision ever. Sometimes it's tough to admit when something's beyond saving, especially if you've already invested a lot into repairs. But once you do, it's usually a relief. Sounds like your mechanic did you a favor by being straight-up about your car, haha.
