We're thinking about replacing our roof soon (ugh, homeowner joys...) and I'm kinda overwhelmed by all the options out there. Asphalt shingles, metal, tile, wood shakes - it's like picking ice cream flavors but way less fun. I've heard metal roofs last forever, but they're pricey upfront. Asphalt seems cheaper but maybe doesn't hold up as long? If anyone's been through this or knows a bit about roofing materials, could you share your experience or advice?
