Good call on placement. I've seen folks slap zinc strips halfway down the roof and wonder why nothing changes. One thing I'd add: zinc strips are great for prevention, but if your shingles were already pretty mossy, you might wanna gently scrape or brush off the thicker patches first. Learned that the hard way when my roof looked like a chia pet after a rainy season...
