Was up on the ladder today, fumbling around trying to fix the flashing around my chimney (you know, typical weekend fun), when my screwdriver slipped and fell down into this weird gap I never noticed before. Reached in to grab it and pulled out this old, rusty tin box instead. Haven't opened it yet, kinda curious but also kinda creeped out. Anyone got an idea what's inside? Or maybe you've found something weird yourself during repairs?
That's pretty wild, honestly. I'd probably be creeped out too, but curiosity would win out eventually. Could be anything from old coins to someone's forgotten stash of letters or photos. Found an old mason jar once behind some drywall—turned out to be just rusty nails and screws, nothing exciting. Still, you never know until you open it. I'd say go for it, just maybe do it outside...you know, in case something crawls out.
"Found an old mason jar once behind some drywall—turned out to be just rusty nails and screws, nothing exciting."
Haha, classic. Why is it always nails and screws? I swear, every time I think I've found something cool, it's just more junk. But seriously, what would be the creepiest thing you could realistically find hidden in a roof or wall? Old dolls? Teeth? A single shoe? (Why is it always just one shoe anyway?) Now I'm curious if anyone's actually found something genuinely unsettling...
"A single shoe? (Why is it always just one shoe anyway?)"
Haha, seriously, the single shoe thing is weirdly common. I've run into a couple myself, and it's always a kid's shoe for some reason—never a pair, just one lonely sneaker. Creepiest find for me though wasn't shoes or dolls...it was hair. Like an honest-to-goodness clump of human hair wrapped in old newspaper. No explanation, nothing else with it, just hair sealed behind some insulation. Could've been someone's idea of insulation back in the day (gross), or maybe something stranger?
Honestly, I'd take rusty nails over mystery hair any day. Nails at least make sense—you can imagine someone thinking they'd reuse them later. But hair? That's unsettling on a whole different level...
Yeah, the hair thing is definitely weirder than shoes. I've seen some odd stuff during tear-offs—old newspapers, beer cans from the 70s—but nothing as creepy as hair wrapped up. Could've been some superstition or old-timey tradition maybe? People used to stash weird things in walls for luck or protection. Still wouldn't wanna be the guy who finds that though...
