Last winter, I noticed my heating bills were getting kinda ridiculous, and no matter how high I cranked the thermostat, the house still felt chilly. At first, I blamed the windows, but after sealing them up tight, nothing really changed. Then a buddy of mine mentioned that heat escapes mostly through the roof if it's not insulated properly. So I climbed up into the attic (which was a dusty nightmare, btw) and found out the insulation was super thin and patchy in spots. Ended up adding some extra insulation layers myselfβwasn't exactly fun, but it wasn't rocket science either.
Anyway, fast forward to now, and I'm already noticing a difference. House feels warmer, and I'm hoping my next heating bill won't make me cry. Curious if anyone else has dealt with something similar or found other sneaky spots where heat escapes?
