Yeah, learned that lesson the hard way myself. A couple years back, I ordered a batch of green roofing sheets for a shed project. Didn't notice until halfway through installation that a few had dents and scratches—nothing major, but annoying enough when you're aiming for perfection (or at least close enough...). Supplier basically told me "tough luck," since I'd already signed off. Now I inspect everything like I'm buying eggs at the grocery store. Anyone else ever manage to sweet-talk their way into a discount after signing off, or is it just urban legend?

Had a similar experience a while back—ordered some charcoal-colored sheets online, and two arrived noticeably warped. Didn't realize until I had half the roof done (typical...). Supplier initially said the same "signed off, your problem" spiel, but after a friendly phone call and a few emailed photos, they did offer me store credit. Not exactly a sweet-talked discount, but better than nothing. Lesson learned: always worth politely pushing back a bit.

Definitely agree with this. If you're looking to buy metal roofing sheets again, here's what I'd suggest: first, try local suppliers if you can—being able to inspect sheets in person saves a ton of headaches later. If you have to order online, always ask upfront about their return policy for damaged or warped sheets. And when your order arrives, don't just eyeball the top few sheets—check them all carefully before signing off. It takes extra time, but trust me, it's worth it...

Good points, but honestly, local suppliers aren't always cheaper. Last year I found better deals online even after shipping costs. Just gotta be extra careful—read reviews, ask questions upfront, and yeah...definitely inspect thoroughly when they arrive. Learned that the hard way myself.

Couldn't agree more about inspecting deliveries closely. Had a similar experience last summer—ordered metal roofing sheets online that arrived slightly warped. Managed to sort it out with the seller eventually, but it was a hassle I didn't need. Curious though, when you factor in potential returns or issues like mine, do you still find online deals consistently worthwhile compared to local suppliers? Seems like hidden costs can crop up unexpectedly...
