I hear you on the local yard, but I’ve actually had decent luck with online orders—if you’re really careful with measurements and double-check the specs. For me, the bigger issue is making sure the panels are actually what they say they are (thickness, finish, coatings, etc). Not every local place carries the more eco-friendly or recycled options either, which is a dealbreaker for me sometimes. It’s a tradeoff for sure, but I wouldn’t totally write off online if you’re after something specific or greener.

That’s been my experience too. I once tried to source recycled panels locally and got a lot of blank stares—ended up ordering online after all. I do get a little nervous about the specs matching up, but so far, no major surprises. As long as you’re double-checking everything, like you said, it can work out. Sometimes you just have to weigh what matters most—eco-friendly or being able to see it in person first.

- Not sure I’d trust online panels unless I could verify the manufacturer specs.

- In my experience, even slight gauge differences or finish issues can cause headaches later.
- Local supply might be limited, but at least you can check for dents or warps before buying.
- Sometimes it’s worth calling around to smaller suppliers—they’ll surprise you with what they can source.
