Just finished installing a metal roof on my workshop (finally!) and now I'm tackling ventilation. Watched a bunch of YouTube vids, read some blogs, and here's what I've pieced together so far:

First, measured ridge length and cut the gap carefully—used a circular saw with a metal-cutting blade, made sure to keep it straight (mostly, lol). Next, laid down some vented closure strips to keep bugs and weather out. Then I installed the actual ridge vent pieces—went with a popular brand from my local hardware store, seemed sturdy enough. Screwed them down tight, sealed edges with silicone caulk, and capped it all off with matching ridge cap pieces.

The thing is, I'm not 100% sure I picked the right brand or even the best method. Some folks swear by foam closures instead of the plastic ones I used, others say certain brands hold up way better over time. Before I move on to the next project, figured I'd check in here—anyone got better tips or a favorite brand they've used?
