I'm redoing my roof soon and got into a bit of a debate with my neighbor—he says he only runs his ice barrier about 2 feet past the exterior wall, but my brother swears you gotta go at least 3 feet or even more if you're in a colder climate. I'm in Michigan, so yeah, we get some pretty serious ice dams sometimes. Just curious what most folks here actually do... quick poll: how far up from the edge do you usually put yours?
