balancing fresh air and warmth - is it even possible?

I've been trying to figure out how to keep my house warm without making it feel stuffy and stale, you know? Every time I crank up the insulation, the air feels heavy and kinda gross. But if I open a window or two, I'm freezing my butt off. Is there some kinda trick or setup that actually works for keeping things cozy but still fresh? Curious if anyone's cracked this puzzle...
