Copper mesh really can be a game changer long-term. I went stainless steel myself due to budget, but seeing my neighbor's copper mesh age gracefully over the years... gotta admit, sometimes I second-guess my choice. Good insights!

Yeah, copper really does develop a nice patina over time. Went with copper myself about 8 years ago—bit pricier upfront but zero regrets. Stainless steel still holds up great though, so you're solid either way.

We went stainless steel about 5 years back, mostly because of budget. Honestly, I was skeptical at first—kept picturing rust stains or something—but it's held up surprisingly well. Still, every time I walk past a neighbor's copper gutters with that nice greenish patina, I do pause for a sec... Definitely has character. But yeah, stainless steel has been reliable enough that I can't really complain.

Good call on stainless steel. In my experience, it's often underestimated for longevity and ease of maintenance. Copper does have that appealing patina, no doubt, but the upfront costs and occasional upkeep can be substantial. Sounds like you struck a solid balance between budget and reliability. I've managed properties with both types, and while copper gutters look great, stainless steel consistently delivers fewer headaches long-term. Glad it's working out well for you.

I get why copper appeals visually, but honestly, stainless steel has saved me a ton of hassle. Had copper gutters on one property I managed, and tenants kept calling about weird greenish stains streaking down the siding after heavy rains. Looked nice at first, but maintenance was a headache. Switched to stainless steel on another building—no stains, no drama, just works quietly in the background. Glad you found something reliable...good contractors are rare these days.
