I'm tackling my garage roof this weekend, decided to go with EPDM since it seemed straightforward enough from the videos I watched. But now that I'm actually staring at the rolls of rubber and adhesive buckets in my driveway, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed, haha. I've done shingles before, but this is a whole different animal.

One thing that's bugging me is prepping the surface—how clean does it really need to be? I've swept it off pretty good, but there's still some stubborn dirt and old adhesive residue from the previous roofing material. Do I need to get it spotless or is "mostly clean" good enough?

Also, any tricks for dealing with wrinkles or bubbles when laying down the membrane? I keep picturing myself wrestling with a giant sheet of cling wrap and ending up stuck underneath it somehow... you know what I mean.

If you've done this before and have any wisdom (or horror stories) to share, I'd appreciate it.
