Was chatting with my buddy yesterday about roofing materials (yeah, thrilling convo, I know), and we got into this weird hypothetical scenario—imagine it's post-apocalypse, zombies everywhere, and you're holed up in a building. Which EPDM roofing would you trust more to keep you dry and safe long-term, Firestone or Carlisle? He swears by Carlisle, says it's tougher, but I'm leaning Firestone. Curious what others think or if anyone has a good story to add to this scenario...

Interesting scenario...but honestly, in a zombie apocalypse, would EPDM roofing really be your best bet? I mean, sure, Firestone and Carlisle both have solid reputations, but EPDM tends to be vulnerable to punctures and tears over time, especially if you're dealing with debris or extreme weather. If we're talking long-term survival, maybe something like modified bitumen or even metal roofing would be more reliable. Metal roofs can handle impacts better, they're fire-resistant (handy if zombies figure out fire, haha), and they last decades with minimal maintenance.

Between the two you mentioned though, I've heard Carlisle might have a slight edge in durability, but honestly, installation quality matters more than brand. A poorly installed Carlisle roof won't do you any favors compared to a properly installed Firestone. Just my two cents—though hopefully none of us ever have to test this theory in real life...
