I'm thinking of using one of those peel-and-stick membranes for waterproofing my bathroom reno. Seen mixed opinions online, some say they're awesome, others complain about peeling corners or tricky installs. Anyone here got personal experience? Curious if they're really worth the extra bucks...

I've inspected quite a few bathrooms where peel-and-stick membranes were used, and honestly, results vary. When installed meticulously—clean surfaces, proper priming, no shortcuts—they can hold up pretty well. But I've also seen plenty of cases with peeling edges or bubbles forming after a year or two. Are you comfortable spending extra time prepping surfaces and carefully applying it? If not, maybe consider a liquid-applied membrane instead... bit more forgiving during install and fewer headaches down the road.

Tried peel-and-stick once myself—thought I was careful, but still got some annoying bubbles after a year or so. Switched to liquid membrane for the next project, and honestly, way easier to handle and zero issues since. Worth considering if you're unsure about prep work...
