Man, glove graveyard is the perfect name for it. I swear, my truck eats right-hand gloves for breakfast—lefties just pile up like some weird collection. I’ve tried those coated fabric ones too, but after an hour in Texas sun, my hands feel like boiled hot dogs. Still, better than picking fiberglass out of your knuckles.

Ever tried those mechanics gloves with the touchscreen fingertips? I thought they’d be a game-changer, but they’re not exactly cheap and still get shredded if you’re wrestling with old gutters. Wondering if anyone’s found something that actually balances durability and comfort, or is it just wishful thinking?

Man, I’m right there with you—the right-hand gloves just vanish, no matter how many pairs I start with. I’ve tried those touchscreen mechanic gloves too, thinking I could finally check my phone without peeling them off, but honestly, they lasted maybe a week before the fingertips wore through. The only thing that’s halfway worked for me is rotating between cheap disposables and some heavier leather ones, depending on the job. Neither is perfect. When it’s 100 degrees out, even the “breathable” ones feel like I stuck my hands in a microwave. At this point, I just accept I’ll be buying gloves in bulk forever.

Totally get that. I’ve tried those “cool” nitrile gloves and they just end up sweaty and gross after an hour on a hot roof. Honestly, I’ve had better luck with thin goatskin gloves—they last longer than disposables, and I can still pick up nails without feeling like I’m wearing oven mitts. Downside is, once they get wet, they’re toast. Still, I’d rather replace one decent pair every couple months than burn through a box of disposables every week.

Man, I hear you. I’ve had days where I peel those nitriles off and it looks like I dunked my hands in a bucket. Goatskin’s been my go-to for attic crawls—still get the dexterity, but yeah, one rainstorm and they’re basically jerky. I keep a backup pair in the truck just in case.

Yeah, goatskin is great until it gets soggy and then you’re basically wearing a pair of beef jerky mittens. I’ve tried those “breathable” coated gloves too, but after a couple hours, my hands look like prunes. Honestly, I just rotate between cheap nitriles and an old pair of mechanics gloves. Not perfect, but at least I don’t have to wring out my hands every time.
