Totally agree with this. Had a similar issue at a rental property—tenants tried everything short of voodoo rituals to get rid of squirrels. Eventually, I just climbed up there myself, sealed off the entry points, and set up a regular roof check schedule. It felt silly at first, but it actually worked. Turns out squirrels are smarter than ultrasonic gadgets... who knew? Regular checks might seem tedious, but they're way less hassle than chasing furry intruders around your attic at 2 AM.

Yeah, those ultrasonic gadgets always seemed a bit gimmicky to me... I've seen plenty of homeowners swear by them, but honestly, sealing entry points and regular checks are the only things I've found consistently effective. Squirrels aren't dumb—they adapt fast. Better to keep it simple.

True, squirrels are surprisingly adaptive, but I've actually seen ultrasonic repellents work decently when they're strategically placed and rotated regularly. The key is not relying solely on them—think of it as part of a broader integrated pest management approach. Sealing entry points is essential, no question, but pairing that with occasional ultrasonic deterrents can sometimes disrupt their comfort zones enough to discourage nesting. It's not foolproof, but dismissing them entirely might overlook a useful supplementary tool.

I've never tried ultrasonic repellents myself, but your point about rotating them makes sense. Last year, I had squirrels nesting in my attic—tried sealing entry points, but those little guys just found new ways in. Eventually, I sprinkled some cayenne pepper around the trouble spots, and surprisingly, it seemed to help. Wonder if combining that with ultrasonic devices would be even more effective... Has anyone else experimented with mixing deterrent methods like this?

- Tried ultrasonic devices last spring—honestly, squirrels seemed more amused than scared.
- Cayenne pepper worked better for me too, but rain washed it away pretty quick.
- Ended up mixing peppermint oil spray around entry points with hardware cloth patches... squirrels finally gave up.
- Maybe ultrasonic + cayenne + peppermint = ultimate squirrel kryptonite combo? Worth a shot, lol.
