Thinking about checking my roof for damage after the last storm, but I'm not exactly thrilled about climbing ladders. Wondering if binoculars from the ground would be good enough or if I really gotta suck it up and climb. What do you guys prefer?

Binoculars can give you a decent initial assessment, especially for obvious stuff like missing shingles or branches stuck up there. But honestly, from experience, subtle issues like loose flashing or small cracks around vents are nearly impossible to spot clearly from the ground. If ladders aren't your thing (and I totally get that...), have you considered borrowing or renting a drone for a quick aerial inspection? Might save you some anxiety and give you clearer images.
