Why do some brands make installing stuff feel like rocket science?

Last weekend I decided to finally upgrade my home theater system—nothing fancy, just swapping out the old speakers and receiver. Thought it'd be a chill afternoon project, you know, plug-and-play kinda thing. But man, was I wrong.

First brand I tried (won't name names, but rhymes with "phony") had instructions that looked more like hieroglyphics than English. Took me two hours just to figure out what goes where. Eventually gave up and returned it, grabbed another brand instead—this one was like night and day difference. Everything clearly labeled, straightforward diagrams... had it all set up in 30 mins tops.

Got me wondering if anyone else notices this huge gap between brands when it comes to how easy their stuff is to install? Like, is it just me being unlucky or are some companies intentionally making things complicated?

I've definitely noticed this too, especially with electronics and appliances. Some brands seem to get that clear instructions save everyone time (and sanity), while others... well, let's just say I've had my share of weekend headaches. Honestly, I think some companies underestimate how much good instructions matter. Maybe they assume we'll all just watch YouTube tutorials anyway? Curious if anyone's found certain brands consistently better at this stuff.
