when do you usually tackle gutter cleaning?

- Just moved into my first house last year, and gutters were definitely NOT on my radar at first, haha.
- Learned the hard way after a heavy rainstorm - water was literally pouring over the sides like a waterfall. Not exactly the backyard water feature I had in mind...
- Tried those micro-mesh guards too, thinking they'd solve everything. They help, but yeah, pine needles are sneaky little devils. Still found myself climbing up there way more often than I expected.
- Now I just do a quick check every spring and fall. Spring because of all the pollen and blossoms, fall because of leaves. Seems to keep things manageable.
- Honestly, it's kinda satisfying once you get into it. Put on some music, grab a ladder, and pretend you're doing something super important, lol.
- But seriously, I underestimated how much maintenance owning a home actually involves. Gutters are just the tip of the iceberg...

Haha, I get the appeal, but honestly, climbing ladders twice a year isn't exactly my idea of fun. Have you ever considered green roofing? It drastically reduces runoff, filters rainwater naturally, and pretty much eliminates gutter cleaning headaches. Plus, it looks amazing and helps insulate your home. Might seem like a big step, but long-term, it's way less hassle than battling pine needles every season...
