I've done a few installs with different tile brands, and honestly, the color and finish seem to matter more than the brand itself when it comes to attic temps. Darker tiles—even from premium brands—tend to absorb more heat, while lighter or reflective finishes keep things cooler. Haven't seen any dramatic differences between major brands in terms of thermal performance, though durability and warranty coverage can vary quite a bit...so that's worth looking into carefully.

I agree, tile color and finish definitely play the bigger role in attic temps. One thing I'd add though—ventilation and insulation are also huge factors. I've seen homes with lighter tiles but poor attic ventilation that still trap a ton of heat. Also, some brands do have better fade resistance or coatings that maintain reflectivity longer, which indirectly helps thermal performance over time. Worth considering if you're in a sunny climate and want it to last.

Yep, ventilation is key—seen plenty of attics roasting despite fancy reflective tiles. Brand-wise, don't get too caught up in marketing hype...focus on proven durability and warranty coverage instead.

Good point about ventilation. I've seen homeowners spend a fortune on premium reflective tiles, thinking it'll solve their heat issues, only to find their attic still feels like a sauna. Tiles alone won't cut it—proper airflow is crucial.

As far as brands go, I'd say stick with companies that have been around a while and have a solid track record. Boral and Eagle Roofing Products come to mind—they've been reliable in my experience, and their warranties actually hold up when you need them. I've had to deal with warranty claims from lesser-known brands before, and trust me, it's a headache you don't want.

Also, don't overlook installation quality. Even the best tiles won't perform if they're poorly installed. Make sure whoever's doing the job knows their stuff—ask for references or check out some of their previous work if you can.

Have you ever dealt with Ludowici tiles? I worked on a storm damage claim last year where the homeowner had them installed about 20 years ago, and honestly, they held up surprisingly well. But you're spot-on about installation quality—I've seen premium tiles fail miserably after storms just because the installers cut corners. Makes me wonder, is it really worth paying extra for top-tier brands if the installation isn't up to par...?
