I was out in the yard yesterday and noticed water spilling over the side of my gutters during the rainstorm. Got me thinking...I honestly can't remember the last time I cleaned them out. Probably been at least a year, maybe two? 😬
I climbed up today to take a quick peek and, um, let's just say it wasn't pretty. Leaves, twigs, some weird mossy stuff growing in there—basically a mini ecosystem thriving in my gutters. I'm guessing that's not exactly ideal for my roof or foundation.
Anyway, I know it's probably important to keep them clear to avoid damage and all that, but how often do you guys actually get up there and clean yours? Do you do it yourself or hire someone? And if you hire someone, is it worth the cost or is it easy enough to DIY?
I'm not exactly scared of heights but I'm also not super thrilled about spending my weekend balancing on a ladder scooping out gunk. If anyone has tips or recommendations for tools or services that make this job easier (or safer), I'd really appreciate it.
