vents that keep embers out - metal mesh vs. baffled style?

Been looking into upgrading our attic vents since wildfire season seems to get worse every year around here. From what I've seen, there's basically two main types: the fine metal mesh ones and the ones with internal baffles. Mesh seems simpler and cheaper, but I've heard it can clog up with dust and junk pretty easily. Baffles look sturdier but cost more and might be trickier to install. Anyone have experience with either type? Curious which you'd pick and why...
