Good reminder on the dryer vents—I always forget about those until someone mentions it. Speaking of overlooked maintenance, has anyone checked their sump pump lately? I realized mine was completely dead last spring after a heavy rainstorm nearly flooded my basement. Luckily caught it just in time, but it got me wondering how often people actually test theirs. Do you guys have a regular schedule for checking stuff like that, or is it more of a "remember when something almost goes wrong" kind of thing? Seems like there's always something around the house that's easy to overlook until it's too late...
