just had a storm wreck my roof - any tips for insurance claims?

Last weekend's storm really did a number on my roof. Shingles everywhere, gutters hanging loose...you know, the whole deal. I've never had to deal with insurance claims before, and honestly, I'm kinda lost. Heard from a neighbor that documenting everything with photos is super important, but beyond that I'm not sure what else I should be doing. Has anyone here been through this? Any tips or things you wish you'd known beforehand?
